BRITTE

Hi, I’m Britte, a native Dutch teacher from the eastern Netherlands who loves helping people feel confident speaking Dutch.

I speak English, Spanish and a little German. I have lived in other countries, so I know how important it is to learn the local language and feel integrated. I also started out by taking lessons, just as you have—or may be considering doing—and I know that a good teacher makes all the difference. That is why I am passionate about helping you feel comfortable with your new language. I have been teaching for more than five years. My main personal goal is to give you the confidence you need to use the language skills you learn in class.

I specialize in preparing students for the A2 Inburgeringsexamen and the Dutch B1 and B2 state exams (NT2 Staatsexamens). I also work with many students who want to improve their fluency or who have a Dutch-speaking partner or family members.

In addition to my three-month courses, I offer intensive sessions consisting of two one-hour sessions designed around very specific goals. For example, I can help you prepare for a job interview or master the vocabulary for a particular niche, such as learning the key phrases and responses you need when working at a reception desk or in a customer-facing role.

Whether you are starting from scratch or want to improve your fluency, I guide you step by step with clear explanations, real-life examples and plenty of practice. My goal is to make Dutch practical, easy to understand and, most importantly, fun.

I speak “Twents”: It is a regional dialect from the eastern Netherlands. It sounds very similar to German!

My office colleagues: I have two cats with classic Dutch names, Teuntje and Vincent.

Bilingual or trilingual brain: I can switch between Dutch, Spanish and English halfway through a sentence without missing a beat.

More than lessons: I sometimes meet my students for a coffee and a relaxed chat; I love making learning social.
